NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks men's basketball team (7-7, 0-3) close out their short two-game homestand against the visiting Houston Christian University Huskies (4-10, 1-2) at the William R. Johnson Coliseum. The Southland Conference game tips off at 6:30 pm CT.
Lumberjacks at a Glance:
The Lumberjacks will look to get back in the win column on Monday evening at the Sawmill as they look to record their sixth home win of the season. The Lumberjacks fell short in a back-and-forth defensive affair this past Saturday evening, losing 55-49 to the Incarnate Word Cardinals. SFA will be looking for their first SLC win this season. The Lumberjacks are 5-2 at home. The team has played superb defense, holding their last three opponents to under 60 points in a game.
Huskies at a Glance:
The Houston Christian Huskies close out a lengthy five-game road trip looking to end the trip on a high note with a win. The Huskies fell in a conference game heartbreaker on Saturday at Lamar as they lost 63-61 that saw Lamar score the game-winning basket with 0.2 seconds left. The Huskies have also had their fair share of competition in non-conference play as they squared off with no. 12 ranked Texas A&M, no. 14 ranked Creighton, and no. 19 ranked Texas.

Keon Thompson continues to be a steady scoring presence for SFA as he recorded 17 points against Incarnate Word on Saturday to mark his fourth double-digit point scoring effort of the season. He is the leading scorer for SFA averaging 13.3 ppg. Chrishawn Christmas has also been racking up the points for SFA lately as he has combined to score 33 points over his previous two games while also tacking on 19 rebounds during that same stretch. Nana Antwi-Boasiako leads the team in rebounding at 7.3 per game and is the third leading scorer with a 9.6 ppg average. Matt Hayman has been a consistent scorer averaging 12.2 ppg and leads the team with 27 steals.

Julian Mackey leads the Huskies offense this season with his 14.9 points per game, while also leading the team in total points scored with 209 and shooting 80.3 percent from the free-throw line. Bryson Dawkins is the second Huskie to average double-digit points/game as he sits at 12.2 points per game, while Elijah Brooks leads the team in assists with 26.
