NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin (SFA) men's basketball team is excited to announce the addition of 6'2 guard Keenan Emmanuel to their roster. Emmanuel is the sixth spring signing for head coach Kyle Keller and his coaching staff, bolstering the team's lineup as they look forward to the upcoming season.
Emmanuel joins the Lumberjacks after a successful tenure at Long Island Lutheran, where he played under the guidance of head coach John Buck. Known for his impressive performance in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) with Uplay Canada, Emmanuel averaged 23 points per game across all sessions. His outstanding play placed him in the top three for points, assists, and steals in the league.
In 2023, Emmanuel's talents earned him an invitation to the prestigious Basketball Without Borders (BWB) camp, where he was selected as an All-Star and contributed to the camp's championship team. His achievements on the court extend to the international stage, having represented Canada with the U17 National Team in 2022.
A native of Mississauga, Ontario, Keenan Emmanuel brings not only his skills and experience but also his passion for the game to Nacogdoches. He joins a growing roster of talented athletes dedicated to elevating SFA's basketball program to new heights.
Keenan comes from a supportive family who have been instrumental in his journey. The SFA community eagerly anticipates the impact he will make both on and off the court.
"We're excited to add a player of Kennan's caliber to this year's team," said head coach Kyle Keller. "He's been well coached and really knows how to play. Most importantly, his best basketball is still ahead of him. He will make SFA better!"
