SFA to Compete in Texas Invitationals

AUSTIN, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin track and field team will travel to the University of Texas for the second time this outdoor season. Earlier this season, the Lumberjacks competed in the Texas Relays which were also hosted by the Longhorns. SFA finished the Texas Relays with four top three finishes.
Stephen F. Austin is coming off a multi-meet weekend in which they competed at the Michael Johnson Invitational and Mt. SAC Relays. The Lumberjacks finished the weekend with two top three finishes. Jarvis Anderson finished 2nd place in the long jump, with a mark of 2.01m. Nathan Kapel ran a 13:53.50 to set a new SFA record and place 2nd in the elite section of the 5000m.
The Texas Invitational will be held at the Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field. The invitational will extend over two days beginning on Friday at 12:00 p.m. and ending Saturday at 4:25 p.m. Friday at noon will feature the men and women's long jump and will be followed the running events at 4:30 p.m.
Saturday's events will get started at 9:00 a.m. with the women's hammer throw. The running events will get started at 2:00 p.m.

The Texas Invitational will be the last chance for Stephen F. Austin to prepare themselves before they compete in the Western Athletic Conference Championships. The WAC Championships are set to be hosted in Orem, Utah from May 9th-11th.
