SFA Trio Takes Advantage at Arkansas Twilight

Garcia breaks 800m program record, Elliott sets new 1500m standard
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - A trio of Stephen F. Austin men's track & field student-athletes took advantage of an opportunity in northwest Arkansas on Friday night at the Arkansas Twilight.
Keyshawn Garcia sped to a new program record in the 800m. Garcia finished in 1:48.21 to place sixth in the event. The time bests Drake Murphy's previous program record of 1:48.42 set in 2019.
Riley Elliott broke the 1500m record clocking a 3:40.01 to best the previous standard in the event, set by Nathan Kapel two springs ago, by 00:00.70 seconds.
Kason Reed notched a personal-best mark of 17.93m (58-10) in the shot put to finish second in the event on Friday night, while moving into third place on the all-time list with the longest toss by a Lumberjack since 2013.
