Ladyjacks Sweep Cowgirls for their 15th Sweep of the Season

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin volleyball team (19-7, 11-2 SLC) returned home after a two-game road swing to face the McNeese Cowgirls (9-16, 5-8 SLC).
Jayden Flynn began the first set with an ace, then both teams were successful siding out for the next five points, 3-3. SFA took the lead off a 6-1 run which included two kills from Kyanna Creecy, and one kill from Camryn Hill and birthday girl Molly Cravens. Both teams traded blows the rest of the set, but the Ladyjacks finished the set on a 3-0 run to take a 25-17 first set victory. SFA hit .516 in the first set and committed zero attack errors.
In the second set, McNeese jumped out to a 3-1 lead, but SFA countered with a 6-0 run that gave the 'Jacks a 6-3 lead. The Cowgirls then tied the game up at six apiece. Both teams sided out until SFA went on a 5-1 run that was capped off by an ace from Hill, 14-10. Later in the set the Cowgirls went on a three-point run to cut the lead down to three, 22-19. However, SFA was able to finish off the second set on a kill from Hill and secure a 25-20 second set victory.
The SFA offense was on fire in the third set as the 'Jacks went on a six-point spurt to five them a 7-2 lead. From that point on there was not much McNeese could do to catch up as the Ladyjacks continued to hover around a nine-point lead for most of the set. The Cowgirls went on a 5-1 run at the end of the lead and staved off two match points from SFA, but the 'Jacks would not be denied as they won the third set 25-18.

• Kyanna Creecy: 10 kills (led team), .667 attack percentage (led team)
• Jordan Henderson: seven kills (career high), five blocks (career high, led team)
• Kennedy Jones: five kills, 11 digs (led team), two aces (tied team lead)

• Camryn Hill: eight kills, two aces (tied team lead), nine digs
SFA will finish up their home schedule on Saturday, November 10th at 12:00 p.m. against the Nicholls Colonels.
