
Eight Lumberjacks Named to the 2024 Southland All-Conference Teams

FRISCO, TEXAS - The Southland Conference (SLC) today released their 2024 All-Conference selections and superlatives. Eight Lumberjacks made the All-Conference first and second teams as well as junior quarterback Sam Vidlak being named SLC Newcomer of the Year.
Sam Vidlak earned Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year honors for his performance in his first season with the Lumberjacks. Vidlak transferred to SFA from Montana and played in nine games for the Lumberjacks this season before suffering a season-ending injury against Nicholls in the Lumberjacks win. Sam went 174-for-257 with 2,387 passing yards and 27 passing touchdowns through nine games. He was also named to the SLC second team All-Conference.
Junior wide receiver Kylon Harris and senior kicker Chris Campos were both named to the offense 2024 Southland All-Conference First Team.
Harris led all Lumberjacks receivers this season with 87 catches for 1,039 yards and 10 touchdowns. Harris averaged 86.5 receiving yards per game. His 1,039 yards ranked him second in the SLC and 7th all-time on the SFA receiving yards list.
Campos was the Lumberjacks leading scorer this season with 105 points. Chris was 51-for-51 on PAT attempts this season and was 18-for-21 on field goal attempts. Chris became the all-time leader in points against Northwestern State this season. In his final game against Abilene Christian, Chris kicked one field goal tying him for second all-time in the FCS with 86 career field goals made.
Senior defensive back Jeremiah Walker received Southland All-Conference First-Team defense. Walker played in all 12 games for the Lumberjacks this season with six pass breakups and 34 total tackles. Senior offensive lineman Nate Adams was named to the Southland All-Conference Second-Team offense.
Adams played in all 12 games for the Lumberjacks this season making starts at both center and guard throughout the season. Nate was a key piece to the offensive line this season as the only returning starter and helped pave the way on the ground for 1,924 total rushing yards and 17 touchdowns.
Junior outside linebacker Aaron Austin, senior defensive lineman Ed Bobino III, and junior defensive back Charles Demmings rounded out the All-Conference selections for the Lumberjacks being named to the defense Southland All-Conference Second Team.
Austin played in all 12 games this season totaling 50 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and 11 quarterback hurries on the season.
Ed played in all 12 games for SFA this season totaling 47 tackles, eight tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and six pass breakups.
Charles Demmings ended the season with 19 tackles, one tackle for loss, two interceptions, and 10 pass breakups while playing in 10 games for the Lumberjacks.
