Faske Among Dave Campbell's 2026 40 Under 40 Class

SFA DC, two former Carthel assistants included in the "Who's Next Among Texas Coaches"
LEWISVILLE, Texas - Current Stephen F. Austin defensive coordinator Caid Faske is among Lone Star State coaches honored as part of Dave Campbell's Texas Football's 2026 40 Under 40 class, announced by the organization last week. Faske is joined by two former Lumberjack assistants, both of which got their start collegiately under current head coach Colby Carthel.
Faske returned to Nacogdoches in January after three seasons as the defensive coordinator at Colorado State Pueblo. He coached the SFA defensive ends from 2019-22. Rice running backs coach Jonathan Wilson and Houston cornerbacks coach Marcus Trice are both among the 2026 honorees. Wilson coached the Lumberjack running backs during the 2024 season after three seasons as the head coach at his alma mater, Klein Forest. Trice got his collegiate start in 2022 as the SFA safeties coach, before taking over as defensive backs and defensive recruiting coordinator in 2023. The past two seasons, Trice coached the Lumberjack corners, including 2026 NFL draft pick Charles Demmings.
