NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks Volleyball Team (17-6, 9-1) kicks off their two-game weekend road series when they first travel to Louisiana for a rematch with the New Orleans Privateers in a Thursday evening Halloween matchup.
Ladyjacks at a Glance:
The Ladyjacks have gotten back to their winning ways as they have collected wins in their last two games with consecutive sweeps of Lamar and Northwestern State. In their last game, the Ladyjacks handily swept the Northwestern State Lady Demons 3-0 on homecoming weekend to grab both their ninth conference and home win of the season. The Ladyjacks will look to continue their strong play away from the Pressure Cooker this season as SFA has posted a 5-2 away record so far this season and have yet to lose a road conference game in 2024, while recording a sweep in three of their last four games.
Privateers at a Glance:
The New Orleans University Privateers return home to host SFA to open up a four-game homestand to close out their 2024 home schedule. In their last game, the Privateers closed out a three-game roadtrip against the UIW Cardinals and fell 3-0. The Privateers return home looking to snap a 15-game losing skid and record their second home win of the season.
Series:
Thursday night's road match for SFA will mark the 20th all-time meeting between these two Southland Conference opponents. SFA leads the all-time series 16-3 and will mark the second time these two schools have met this season. SFA has won the last 15 meetings between the two schools including their last meeting just two weeks ago when they swept the Privateers 3-0 at the Pressure Cooker.

HAMMOND, La.- The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks Volleyball Team (17-6, 9-1) will close out their road trip as they will stay in Louisiana to square off with the Southland Conference leading Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions (18-4, 10-0) as the Ladyjacks look to exact some revenge on the Lady Lions and snap the Lady Lions 18-game win streak.
Lady Lions at a Glance:
The Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions are no stranger to the SFA Ladyjacks as these two schools have already met twice this season with the Lady Lions claiming a 3-2 win in both of the previous meetings. The Lady Lions have been on a roll all season especially in conference play as they have won 18 consecutive games and hold a perfect 10-0 record in conference play. To top it all off, the Lady Lions hold a perfect 7-0 home record this season as they have swept five of their last six opponents.
Series:
Saturday afternoon's matchup will feature the third time this season these two Southland heavyweights square off and the 48th all-time meeting between the two teams. SFA holds the all-time record over the Lady Lions 39-9, however, the Lady Lions have won the previous three meetings between the two schools including their last meeting just 12 days ago when they claimed a 3-2 win over SFA at the Pressure Cooker.
Scouting Report:
Katherine Holtman and Izabella Ortiz continue to power the Ladyjack offense as both have posted over 200 kills and 245 points on the year. Meanwhile, Jayden Flynn continues to anchor down the setter spot for SFA as she has dished out a team-high 492 assists this season while also leading the team with 32 service aces. Defensively, Camryn Hill continues to shine as she leads the team with 260 digs, while Kyanna Creecy continues to be a force to be reckoned with at the net as she has tallied 88 blocks this year.
Courtney Roundtree is the enforcer on the Privateers offense as she leads the team with 164 kills and 205 points this year. Meanwhile, Defne Eciroglu has recorded a team-leading 312 assists. Lani Alleman leads the defensive effort for New Orleans with 181 digs, while Courtney Roundtree has shown off her versatility for New Orleans by also leading the team in blocks with 50 this season.
Cicily Hidalgo is the leader of the Lady Lions offensive attack as she has recorded a team-high 284 kills and 330 points. Gracie Duplechein and Ashley Richardson have formed a dynamic setter duo for Southeastern Louisiana as both have tallied over 380 assists on the year. Lexi Gonzalez has held down the Libero spot for the Lady Lions with her team-leading 262 digs. India Bennett leads the blocking effort for the Lady Lions as she has hit the century mark in blocks with her 100 blocks this season.
