
Lumberjacks Head to Hammond for Pivotal SLC Matchup

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks (4-2, 2-1) head to Hammond, Louisiana this Saturday to play the Southeastern Louisiana Lions (3-4, 2-0) in a key Southland Conference (SLC) match-up. The Lions are currently sitting on top of the SLC standing while the Lumberjacks are in third. The Lumberjacks are riding a three-game winning streak, defeating Northern Colorado, Northwestern State, and the 22nd-ranked Lamar Cardinals.
Series History
This will be the 22nd meeting between the two teams with the Lumberjacks holding an 11-9-1 series lead over Southeastern. SFA has lost the last two games against the Lions. The series dates back to October 14th, 1950, a Lumberjacks 21-0 victory. The most recent meeting came on November 2nd, 2019, a 47-30 Lumberjacks loss.
A Look at SFA
The Lumberjacks are coming off a 27-20 victory over the number 22 ranked Lamar Cardinals claiming their third win in a row and winners of their last two SLC games.
The offense shined again as Sam Vidlak recorded his second consecutive game throwing for over 300 passing yards. Sam also threw his 17th touchdown of the season against the Cardinals. Qualan Jones led the way on the ground for the 'Jacks with 21 carries for 119 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Kylon Harris led the way for the receivers with 10 catches for 106 yards. Blaine Green followed closely behind with seven receptions for 103 yards.
Jermaine Brown led the way for the defense with 10 total tackles. Jaheim Mullen recorded his third interception in the past two games against the Cardinals.
Chris Campos continued his historic run surpassing Dan Carpenter of Montana's (2004-07) mark of 75 career-made field goals and securing third place all-time in the FCS for field goals made. Chris leads SFA in all three major career kicking categories, field goals made (74), PATs made (186), and points (408). Chris will need just 11 more made field goals to be second in the FCS all-time with 87.

The Lions are coming off a 37-7 victory over Houston Christian last weekend claiming their second win in a row.
Eli Sawyer led the way for the Lions passing for 144 yards and two touchdowns. Rodeo Graham Jr. led the way on the ground with eight carries for 109 yards and one touchdown. Darius Lewis led the way for the receivers with four catches for 46 yards.
KK Reno and Donte' Daniels led the way for the defense each with 12 tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss. Kharmon Ford also recorded an interception in the win.
