
Fresh Off a Win Over UNT, SFA Travels to Arizona for the Northern Arizona Tournament

Ladyjacks at a Glance:
The SFA Ladyjacks enter the Northern Arizona Tournament fresh off a win over the UNT Mean Green. Coming into the match, UNT had yet to lose a home game this season, but the Ladyjacks played spoiler to that record as they defeated the Mean Green in five sets, 3-2. In their match against UNT, SFA led in points (75-65), assists (54-53), aces (6-5), blocks (14.5-6), kills (55-54), digs (59-57), and hitting percentage (.245-.177). SFA got production from the entire team against UNT as Ielan Bradley posted 14 kills while Alleah Dallas had 11 kills. Izabella Ortiz's first game since her second All-Tournament Team selection added another seven blocks to her team leading total of 44. Ortiz's 44 blocks are good for second in the entire nation trailing only Kate Hansen from Texas Tech who leads the nation with 49 blocks so far this season. Jayden Flynn, MVP of the SFA Tournament, also extended her team leading assist total of 148 by dishing out another 27 assists against UNT, while Maddy Bourque dealt out 22 assists of her own. Meanwhile, three Ladyjacks had double digit digs; as Ariana Pagan had 13, followed by Camryn Hill who had 12, and Haley Hoang added 11 digs to increase her total to 114 kills on the season, which is tops on the team. The win over UNT extended SFA's win streak to five games, and they enter the Northern Arizona Tournament with a 6-1 overall record.
Broncos at a Glance:
The Boise State Broncos enter the Northern Arizona Tournament with a 2-2 overall record on the season. In their most recent game, the Broncos fell 3-0 to the Oregon State Beavers playing in the Oregon State Tournament. So far this season, Paige Bartsch has been a Swiss Army Knife for the Broncos this season as she leads the team in points (87.5), kills (75), and aces (9), while being second on the team in digs with 30, and third on the team in blocks with six. Annie Kaminski leads the Broncos in blocks with 14, while Breanna Mitchell leads with 47 digs.
Lumberjacks at a Glance:
The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks play host this weekend and enter the Lumberjack Classic with a 2-4 overall record. The Lumberjacks have historically performed extremely well in the Lumberjack classic as they hold a 14-7 record all time in the tournament. In their most recent game, NAU fell 3-0 to The Citadel in the Jacksonville Tournament. The Northern Arizona Tournament will see the Lumberjacks defend their homecourt for the first time this season as they have yet to play a home match this season. On the season, Hanah Stoddard leads the Lumberjacks in points (79), and kills (70). NAU has a pair of 100 assist players as Karya Suvarioglu has 103 assists on the season, and Keira Hall has 100 assists as well. On the defensive side, Millie O'Ketter leads with 101 digs, while Kendall Robertson has posted 26 blocks so far this season.
Sun Devils at a Glance:
The Sun Devils come cruising into the Northern Arizona Tournament as they hold a perfect 6-0 record this season. Like NAU, the Sun Devils have yet to play a home game this year but are 2-0 on the road and 4-0 in neutral games. In their last game, the Sun Devils squared off against New Mexico State in the Borderland Invitational and defeated the Aggies 3-1. Marta Levinska leads the team in points as she has posted 105.5 points so far this season while posting 83 kills and 15 aces so far this season, both of which also lead the team. Mary Shroll leads defensively with 62 digs and Claire Jeter has 22 blocks so far for ASU.
Series: This will be the Ladyjacks first meeting with the Broncos, their second meeting with the Lumberjacks, and their second meeting with the Sun Devils. This will be SFA's first time squaring off against ASU since 2003, and their first time playing NAU since 2021.
