‘Jacks Fall 3-1 to Horned Frogs

FORT WORTH, Texas- Stephen F. Austin Women's Soccer was defeated 3-1 by the TCU Horned Frogs on Sunday afternoon.

The SFA Lumberjacks took a trip to North Texas looking to snap a six-game skid against Texas Christian University. TCU also came into the game looking to claim a win after they tied against the BYU Cougars. The Horned Frogs struck quickly in this one as Gracie Brian scored her fourth goal of the season for TCU in the 8^thminute to put TCU up 1-0 early. Less than two minutes later, TCU would find the back of the net again as Oli Pena scored her first of the year in the 10^th minute and TCU was ahead 2-0 early. That score stood for the rest of the half and SFA enter halftime trailing by two. The Horned Frogs would find the back of the net a third time in the 55th minute as Camryn Lancaster scored her first of the year to put TCU up 3-0. However, Jayme Bailey broke TCU's shutout bid in the 61^st minute as she scored her first of the year for the 'Jacks by sneaking one into the lower left corner past Lauren Kellet. Ava Shannon picked up her first assist of the season on the Bailey goal.

Overall, the Lumberjacks had six total shots with three shots being on goal. Ava Shannon had two shots with both being shots on goal as well as picking up an assist on the Bailey goal. Jayme Bailey recorded one shot with the one shot being a shot on goal and resulting in SFA's lone goal of the game. Jamie Jezierski, Reaganne Crane, and Jamie Ingrassia all recorded a shot for SFA as well. Bradley Redd and Logan Pilgreen combined to make eight saves for SFA, while Gabrielle Gipson and Kyra Guhl both played the entire game for the 'Jacks.

Stephen F. Austin returns home to the Chopping Block on Thursday, September 21^st at 7:00 p.m. as they begin their conference slate against Tarleton State University.
