
Ielan Bradley Smashes 25 Kills for a New Career High as Ladyjacks Take Down Golden Hurricane in Four

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- Stephen F. Austin defeated the University of Tulsa 3-1, Friday afternoon.
In the first set, neither team held more than a two-point lead until the 'Jacks scored three in a row to take a 14-10 lead. Tulsa fought back and eventually took the lead back off of a five-point run, 20-18. The teams continued to trade points for the rest of the set, but SFA scored the final two points and secured a 26-24 first set victory. The Ladyjack offense got off to a blazing start in the second set as they jumped out to an early 12-4 lead. Later on, SFA went on a six-point spurt to extend their lead to 20-6. The 'Jacks finished off the second set by rattling off four points, 25-11. The third set started off the same as the first with the teams trading points. However, this time Tulsa had a four-point run which gave them a 14-11 lead. The 'Jacks continued to keep the game within a three-point margin, but the Golden Hurricane came out with a 25-23 third set victory. In the fourth set, SFA rattled off four points to take an early 6-3 lead. Later, the 'Jacks had another four-point spurt to extend their lead to 13-6. Tulsa fought their way back and eventually cut the lead down to two, but that did not stop SFA from closing out the match with a 25-22 set three victory.
SFA led Tulsa in points (85-69), kills (64-57), aces (7-5), blocks (14-7), assists (59-54), digs (75-72), and hitting percentage (.198-.296). Ielan Bradley had a career day recording 25 kills, no errors, and hit .610. Freshman Tanishua Joseph also recorded her first double digit kill match with 10. Jayden Flynn led the team with 29 assists, followed by Maddy Bouque with 19. Haley Hoang recorded her first double-double of the season with 21 digs and 10 assists. Arian Pagan recorded 17 digs, followed by Camryn Hill who recorded 10.
The 'Jacks will conclude the second SFA Tournament Saturday, September 16th at 1:30 p.m. as they take on the Ole Miss Rebels.
