Caelynn January Scores First Collegiate Goal as 'Jacks Drop Home Opener

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The University of Houston defeated Stephen F. Austin 5-1 in the 'Jacks home opener.
Houston opened up the scoring in the 20th minute. SFA got on the board in the 28th minute as Caelynn January scored her first collegiate goal off of a great pass from Jayme Bailey which led January into the box. January shot a laser into the upper left of the net above the reach of the Houston goalie. The Cougars scored another goal in the 36th minute and went into halftime with a 2-1 lead. It was all Houston in the second half as they scored in the 47th, 62nd, and 69th minute.
January recorded a goal and Bailey had an assist. Jamie Jezierski recorded three shots followed by Bailey and Emma McLaughlin who each had two. Goalkeeper Lydia Sattler recorded two saves in tonight's game.
SFA will return to the Chopping Block Sunday, August 27th at 11:00 a.m. against Louisiana-Lafayette.
