Kirby Ennis, Mike Mutz, and Ty Warren Join the SFA Football Coaching Staff

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin football program and Head Coach Colby Carthel announced the addition of Kirby Ennis, Mike Mutz, and Ty Warren to the 2023 Lumberjack Football coaching staff. These coaches will look to help SFA defend their 2022 WAC Football Championship and make a run back into the NCAA postseason.
Kirby Ennis: Outside Linebackers Coach
- 2009-14, Texas A&M Graduate, played five seasons for the Aggies as nose guard
- 2013, Preseason All-SEC Selection
- 2015-17, Defensive line coach at Athens High School
- 2017-20, Defensive line coach at North Forney High School
- 2020-23, Defensive line assistant at Texas Tech
Mike Mutz: Defensive Coordinator
- 1997, Graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a degree in psychology and a minor in coaching
- 1998-2000, Southern Illinois
- 2001-03, Fort Scott CC (Kansas) (DL/ST)
- 2004-05, Sam Houston State (DL)
- 2006-07, Missouri Southern State (DB)

- 2003-10, Played for the New England Patriots
- 2004 & 2005 Super Bowl Champion (XXXVIII, XXXIX)
- 2011-12, Played for the Denver Broncos
- 2022, Houston Gamblers Defensive line coach
- 2023, Orlando Guardians Defensive line coach
