Lumberjack Baseball Team Announces 2024 Schedule

NACOGDOCHES, TX- The 2024 Lumberjacks baseball schedule has been set for the 2024 baseball season. The schedule features games at Baylor and Texas Tech and a full slate of WAC opponents including a home series against 2023 regular season conference champion Grand Canyon University.
The season opens with the Lumberjacks hosting the SFA tournament at Jaycees Field where they will play two games against Texas A&M Corpus Christi and two games against Central Michigan.
The Lumberjacks will also host Central Michigan University in a two-game home series on February 20th and 21st.
The Lumberjacks travel to Houston, Texas February 23-25 to play in the Sugar Land Classic hosted at Constellation Field, home to the Houston Astros Triple-A Minor League affiliate the Space Cowboys.
Western Athletic Conference (WAC) play opens with the Lumberjacks hosting the 2023 WAC regular season conference champions Grand Canyon University in the first conference series of the year. The series kicks off Friday March 8th and will end on Sunday March 10th.
The schedule also features some premier matchups with the Lumberjacks going on the road to face Baylor (March 12), Texas Tech (March 26), and Dallas Baptist University (April 30).
The WAC home schedule for the Lumberjacks concludes May 3-5 vs. Utah Tech and the regular season comes to an end May 17-19 vs. Northwestern State.
The season wraps up with the WAC Conference Tournament in Mesa, Arizona May 22nd through May 25th.
"I feel like our schedule pits us against some of the best talent in our region," said head coach Johnny Cardenas. "It's going to be very exciting."
The Lumberjacks finished the 2023 season with a 22-28 overall record, 12-18 in WAC play.
