
Lumberjacks Hit the Road to Face Wildcats

ABILENE, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks (4-3, 0-1) travel to Moody Coliseum to take on the Abilene Christian Wildcats (3-4, 0-1) in a Western Athletic Conference (WAC) game. Tipoff is set for 5:00 p.m. CT.
The Lumberjacks are coming off their 68-66 conference opener loss to Tarleton State and the Wildcats lost 86-71 at UT-Arlington in their first WAC contest.
A Look at SFA:
The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks are coming off their season opening WAC loss, losing 68-66 to the Tarleton Texans (5-2, 1-0). In the Tarleton game, SFA finished the first half with three different scorers posting six points. Nana Antwi-Boasiako, Latrell Jossell, and Kimahri Wilson shot a combined 7-for-12 with 18 points. Frank Staine finished as the 'Jacks leading scorer with his season high 13 points. Frank Staine was named the SFA Player of the Game.
Nana Antwi-Boasiako finished as SFA's only other double-digit scorer. with 12 points along with seven rebounds and two assists. Nana has scored double digits in three straight games for SFA. He is leading the team in blocks with seven. Nana is also tied for second most three-pointers made with his seven. Matt Hayman leads the 'Jacks defensively with his 11 steals.
SFA totals 64 steals and averages 9.1 steals per game. Stephen F. Austin has also posted 22 blocks on the year, averaging 3.1 per game. Sadaidriene Hall leads the Lumberjacks offensively with his 11.9 points per game and 58.6%. Hall also is the team's leading rebounder as he averages 5.0 a game.
A Look at ACU:
The Wildcats are coming off an 86-71 loss at UT-Arlington and are 3-4 on the season and 0-1 in the Western Athletic Conference. This will be the first home conference game this season for the Wildcats. ACU is 10-8 at home against the WAC in its previous two seasons. Last year's top three ACU scorers against the WAC are back this season. Ali Abdou Dibba (11.8), Immanuel Allen (10.6) and Airion Simmons (10.3) all averaged double-digits in WAC games last season.
Hunter Jack Madden leads the team with 13.4 points per game. Ali Dibba checks in at 13.1 and Airion Simmons averages 12.9 points per game. That trio also averages a combined 13.4 rebounds, led by Simmons at 5.0 per game. Madden averages 4.4 rebounds and Dibba 4.0.

The first matchup between SFA and ACU was January 21, 1974, and resulted in a 104-94 Lumberjack win. Stephen F. Austin also took a 91-87 double overtime win over ACU in the most recent matchup (February 22, 2023). The Lumberjacks have won four of the last five matchups against Abilene Christian.
