RIVERSIDE, Calif.- The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks Volleyball team concludes their regular season schedule with a duel against the California Baptist Lancers.
Ladyjacks at a Glance:
Stephen F. Austin is riding high coming into this match following a commanding 3-1 win over the GCU Lopes on Thursday that saw the Ladyjacks secure the no. 1 seed in the WAC Tournament. In the match against GCU, the Ladyjacks led in points (75-67), assists (57-49), kills (61-51), aces (6-5), and hitting percentage (.252-.238).
Three Ladyjacks recorded double digit kills against GCU highlighted by reigning WAC Player of the Week Ielan Bradley, who led the team with 16. Izabella Ortiz and Tanishua Joseph finished tied for second on the team with 12 kills each. Maddy Bourque and Jayden Flynn continue their exceptional seasons as both recorded double-doubles against GCU. Flynn, who recorded her sixth double-double this season, led the team with 27 assists and added 10 digs, while Bourque secured her second double-double this season by finishing second on the team in assists with 24 while also adding 10 digs. The 'Jacks defensive game helped keep the GCU offense at bay as five Ladyjacks finished with double-digit digs. Haley Hoang continues her dominant season on defense as she led the team with 19 digs, Ariana Pagan and Camryn Hill formed a dynamic defense duo for SFA as each finished with 13 digs, while Flynn and Bourque followed with their 10 kills. The freshman duo of Kyanna Creecy and Tanishua Joseph silenced the GCU offense as Creecy finished the game with a team-leading five blocks, while Tanishua Joseph finished second on the team with three blocks.
The Ladyjacks win over GCU pushed their win streak to 15, and they stay a perfect 15-0 in conference play. The Ladyjacks hold a 26-3 overall record and a 9-2 away record so far this season and will be looking to end their season on a high note. SFA maintains their nation leading total in Team Total Blocks as they have tallied 278 on the season. Izabella Ortiz continues to power SFA's defense as she ranks tenth in the nation in Total Blocks with 129.

The CBU Lancers are coming off a nail-biting 3-2 loss to the UT Arlington Mavericks. The Lancers came back from a 2-1 deficit to UTA to force a decisive fifth set, but the Mavericks edged out the Lancers 15-12 in the fifth set to claim a win on the road. Eliana Posada recorded a career-high 14 kills on .500 hitting percentage against UTA. Michalina Rola led the Lancers with 15 kills and had an impressive five aces. Reese Reed and Maddie Brown dished out plenty of assists against UTA as Reed finished with 27 and Brown totaled 15. Three Lancers finished with double-digit digs as Rola, Brianna Young, and Reed each had ten digs apiece. The Lancers will carry a 14-12 overall record, a 7-8 conference record, and a 6-3 home record and will be looking to snap a three-game losing skid.
Series: This will be the fourth time CBU and SFA square off against each other. These two schools met earlier this season, which saw the Ladyjacks claim a 3-1 win over the Lancers at the Pressure Cooker.
