Phoenix, Ariz.- Stephen F. Austin Women's Soccer continues their road trip in a Sunday afternoon matchup with the GCU Lopes.
Lumberjacks at a Glance:
Stephen F. Austin travels east to Phoenix coming off a road match against the CBU Lancers in which the 'Jacks were defeated 4-1. In the match against CBU, Ava Shannon scored her first goal of the season and her career as she now sits at five points on the season. In addition to Shannon's offensive presence, Lily Hargrove made her presence known by recording three shots and two shots on goal against the Lancers. Mariona Garcia Dalmases and Jayme Bailey also recorded shots for SFA, as Bailey was able to draw a penalty early in the first half which led to Shannon's goal on the penalty kick. GCU is coming off a commanding 5-0 win over UTRGV on Thursday night as two different GCU players recorded two goals for GCU in the game. The Lopes enter this home game with a 9-4-3 overall record, a 3-1-2 conference record, and a 7-2-1 home record. Gianna Gourley, who was one of the players to record two goals in the match against UTRGV, is the driving force behind GCU's offense as she has recorded 16 goals on the season, which ranks her third in the nation.
