
Lumberjacks and Ladyjacks take 2nd at Lumberjack Invitational

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- Stephen F. Austin hosted the Lumberjack Invitational today. The Lumberjacks finished second with a 52 (2:05:07), while the Ladyjacks finished second with a 32 (1:27:23).
Head Coach Robert Hansen was impressed with the overall performance of the team. "I'm pleased with today's results. Both groups are learning to race together and as a pack were stronger. Our freshman have really bought into that."
Lewis Mills finished first (24:13), Maxwell Murphy finished fourth (24:23), Wyatt Hoover finished 11th (25:13), and Anthony Para finished (25:13). The Lumberjacks placed four in the top 15 to place second.
"Clark (redshirt SFA), Lewis, and Max paved the way for our group of youngsters behind them, each running significant lifetime bests" said Coach Hansen. "I'm really happy for Lewis to pick up the collegiate victory!".
On the women's side, Isabel Borrego finished second (17:09), Agathe Gaudin finished fifth (17:21), Rachel Taylor finished sixth (17:23), Hadley Watts finished eighth (17:41), Kyla Zalit finished 11th (17:48), Katherine English finished 12th (17:49), and Maggie Marshall finished 13th (17:49). The Ladyjacks placed seven in the top 15 to claim second.
"Isabel Borrego had the race of her life with a huge lifetime best and an impressive 2nd place performance amongst a quality field. Agathe Gaudin ran the cross country race of her entire life; she was phenomenal" said Coach Hansen. "The rest of our group was exceptional as well, and they've demonstrated that we're ready to take a marked jump from last year."
Stephen F. Austin will travel September 30th to Fayetteville, Arkansas to take part in the Chile Pepper Invitational.
