SFA Men Finish 4th at 2022 WAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship

SEATTLE, Wash. – The Stephen F. Austin men's track and field team tallied 105 points and placed fourth at the 2022 WAC Outdoor Men's Track & Field Championship.
"The men were incredible," said SFA head track and field coach Phil Olson. "We brought 19 guys to the meet and anytime you can score over 100 points is a phenomenal accomplishment."
Jeremiah Curry won WAC titles in the 400-meter dash with a time of 46.23 and 200-meter dash with a mark of 20.56.
The 4x100 meter relay team consisting of Curry, Jeremiah Harding, Jonathan Allen, and Mazuri Mattar won the crown with a time of 39.82. The 4x400 meter relay team with Allen, Justin Garcia, Devin Mills, and Rodney Johnson earned runner-up with a time of 3:11.60.
Branson Ellis earned runner-up in the pole vault with a mark of 5.03 meters. Cord Neal was runner-up in the javelin throw with a toss of 65.77 meters. Asani Hylton placed second in the high jump with a mark of 2.11 meters. Hylton also finished third in the javelin throw with a toss of 58.26 meters.
Mattar was runner-up in the 400-meter dash with a time of 46.28 and Garcia finished third in the 400 hurdles with a time of 52.85.
Lewis Mills placed fifth in the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 8:52.37.
