SFA Women Roll to 2022 WAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship

SEATTLE, Wash. – Stephen F. Austin women's track and field team scored 160 points to secure the 2022 WAC Outdoor Women's Track and Field Championship.
"We are really proud of the way the women competed over the past three days," said SFA head track and field coach Phil Olson. "This was the culmination of a year's worth of preparation and it was a total team effort."
The team win marks Coach Olson's 40th conference championship of his illustrious career.
Several Ladyjacks won the WAC championship in their respective event. Nissi Kabongo won the high jump with a mark of 1.76 meters and 100-meter hurdles with a time of 59.18. Kabongo also was runner-up in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.36 and took home the women's high point award.
Seri Geisler won the javelin throw with a toss of 51.15 meters.
Erica Ellis won the pole vault with a jump of 4.05 meters.
Brianna Nolen earned runner-up honors in the 800-meters with a time of 2:06.63.
Jayla Hooper placed third in the discuss with a toss of 48.37 maters and also third in the hammer throw with heave of 51.68. Hooper also placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 15.11 meters
Cayla Burch finished third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.73 and third in the 200-meter dash with a mark of 23.88.
Rachel Taylor placed third in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:30.81.
The 4x400 meter relay team consisting of Kabongo, Asia Giles, Christiana Mudd, and Brianna Nolen finished fourth with a time of 3:46.91.
The 4x100 meter relay team consisting of Mudd, Giles, Lindsey Davis and Morgan Taylor placed fifth with a time of 46.78.
