Chepkoech Advances to West Regional Finals in 1500m; Four Jacks in Action on Friday

First-year Jack is in action on Saturday eyeing a berth to Eugene for the NCAA National Championships
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Evaline Chepkoech continued her dominant first season as a Lumberjack on Thursday night in Northwest Arkansas as the native Kenyan qualified for Saturday's West Regional final in the women's 1500m from John McDonnell Field on the University of Arkansas campus.
Chepkoech was the final qualifier from heat three as her time of 4:22.42 earned her a spot in Saturday's first of two heats. She will be joined in heat one by fellow Southland Conference foe Elizabeth Khatevi. The top five runners from both heats as well as the next two fastest times will advance to the NCAA Division I National Championship in Eugene, Oregon. Saturday's final is set for a 5:15 gun.
Valentine Jemutai saw an impressive spring slate come to an end in the women's 10000m run finishing with a time of 35:05.70.
