Lumberjacks Cruise Past Arkansas-Pine Bluff

The Lumberjacks (3-4, 0-0 WAC) broke the game open in its half of the fifth inning. PJ Villareal scored Garrett Goetz on a sacrifice fly and opened up a 1-0 lead. Leadoff hitter Cameron Crawford drove in Goetz with a triple and later crossed home plate on a balk.
Kanin Dodge and Villareal each added an RBI in the seventh inning and SFA opened up a 5-2 lead.
In the top of the ninth Kade Clemens RBI singled to left field and pushed across an insurance run.
As a team, SFA produced 12 hits and drew five walks.
Dayton Dewberry earned the win on the bump. Dewberry threw four innings, scattered two hits, and walked two while striking out three.
The bullpen tossed the fifth through ninth innings and held UAPB (0-5, 0-0 SWAC) to five hits.
SFA returns to the diamond Friday and begins a three-game road swing at Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
