DENVER, Colorado --
The Western Athletic Conference announced the Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week this morning, as SFA's Erica Ellis claimed Women's Field Athlete of the Week with her outstanding performance in Pole Vault last weekend.
"We are very proud of Erica, she has been working hard to get on some new poles," said Coach Hadrien Choukroun. "She has been consistent with winning meets and that's what helps to win championships."
Ellis notched the top spot at the Charlie Thomas Invitational and Multi's clearing 13-9 (4.19m) at Texas A&M. She is currently slated at No. 6 in NCAA Division I (14-5 1/2) and second in the conference.
Both squads will compete next at the Western Athletic Conference Indoor Championships in Albuquerque through Friday, February 18th-Saturday, February 19th.
