Volleyball Falls to UTA on the Road

ARLINGTON, Texas- UT Arlington defeated Stephen F. Austin 3-0 Saturday afternoon. SFA falls to 21-4 (9-3 WAC), while UTA improves to 16-8 (8-4 WAC).
UTA had a couple of four-point runs in the first set that propelled them to a 25-13 win. The second set was back and forth at the beginning, but UTA went on a five-point scoring run and never looked back as they won the second set 25-18. SFA appeared to rebound in the third set, jumping out to a 2-0 lead, and were able to maintain a lead for most of the set until the end where UTA went on a six-point run to take the lead at 22-18. The Mavericks ended up winning the third set 25-22.
Ielan Bradley led both teams with 13 kills, followed by Payton Cerny who recorded six. Maddy Bourque had 15 assists, followed by Jayden Flynn who recorded 14. Haley Hoang led the team with 14 digs while Leah Powell recorded eight. Bradley led the team with five total blocks, followed by Jamyah Anderson who had four total blocks.
The Ladyjacks will be back at home for the final two games of the regular season next week, starting with Southern Utah on Thursday, November 10th at 6:30 p.m. That game will be broadcasted on WAC International without commentary, but fans can tune into SFAVOLLEYBLOG.NET to listen to Greg Miller commentate.
