
MTSU Defeats SFA at Northern Classic

MONTREAL – Nigel Hawkins scored a team-high 18 points and Middle Tennessee State defeated Stephen F. Austin 75-63.
MTSU improved to 4-2 and SFA falls to 3-3.
Hawkins' 18 point came on 7-for-18 shooting from the field. The Houston, Texas native went a perfect 3-for-3 at the free-throw line and added four rebounds and four steals.
Kyle Hayman came off the bench and dropped 13 points on 5-for-9 shooting from the floor.
Nana Antwi-Boasiako added nine points and five rebounds, while Roti Ware helped out with eight points, and AJ Cajuste scored six points.
The Lumberjacks scored 21 points off turnovers and added nine second-chance points.
SFA closes out the Montreal Northern Classic Sunday morning versus UNC Greensboro with opening tip set for 9 a.m.
