Lumberjacks Place 15th at Chile Pepper Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas- The Stephen F. Austin cross country team traveled to Fayetteville, Arkansas to take part in the Chile Pepper Invitational September 30th. The men and women both placed 15th, amongst a tough field of competition.
Head Coach Robert Hansen said, "Today was a step in the right direction. We're definitely a program still in progress. We're much better than we were last year, we're also lot better right now than we demonstrated in Fayetteville."
Coach Hansen also praised freshmen Hadley Watts and Wyatt Hoover, along with junior Lewis Mills. "I was really proud of Hadley, she raced very confidently, and had a huge breakthrough performance. She is only getting better every single week."
"Lewis did a great job leading out group, but Wyatt's patience and strong race execution is more than noteworthy. He is a great competitor and that is definitely more inherent than teachable; it is good to have that mechanism in your toolbox."
The Lumberjacks will travel to College Station, Texas October 15th, to take part in the Arturo Barrios Invitational.
