SFA Cross Country Competes at Rice Invitational

HOUSTON, Texas -- Members of the SFA Cross Country teams competed as part of the Rice Invitational in Houston, Texas on Friday, continuing the 2021 campaign with the first significant action against other programs. The SFA women finished fifth overall among the women's standings, while the men took sixth on their end of the competition.

"Overall I thought the effort was solid, but we have a lot of things to work on in the next three weeks", said SFA Cross Country head coach Rob Hansen. "We were missing some key folks from both genders, and that'll help as we progress through the latter half of the season, but I believe that for now our process is a work in progress."

SFA's top finisher overall was Max Murphy in 19th on the men's side (19:48.10), while Rachel Taylor (14:42.20) was SFA's top female finisher in 22nd place. Full results for both races are linked above.
