SFA Football Receiving Votes In AFCA FCS Preseason Coaches Poll

WACO, Texas -- SFA Football opens the 2021 fall season receiving votes in the AFCA FCS Preseason Top 25 poll, according to a national release this week. Stephen F. Austin received a total of 11 votes in the poll, the 11th most among teams receiving votes. The ranking comes on the heels of a 6-4 campaign in Fall of 2020, the schools first winning season since 2011, and precedes the program's first competition as a member of the Western Athletic Conference. SFA will join the other WAC programs as well as members of the ASUN to compete as part of the AQ7 for just the 2021 season.

SFA opens the 2021 season with a matchup against Tarleton State inside Homer Bryce Stadium on September 4, kicking off head coach Colby Carthel's third season at the helm of the Lumberjacks.
