Ninth Inning Delivery From Clemens Creates Opportunity, 'Jacks Fall 4-3 in Walkoff Fashion at No. 8 Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Lumberjacks (12-15, 9-7 SLC) returned to midweek action at No. 8 Texas Tech Tuesday night, falling in a walk-off heartbreaker in the first of two games against the Red Raiders in Lubbock, 4-3.
During the 'Jacks portion of the ninth with two outs, pinch-hitter Kade Clemens connected on a bases-clearing double down the left field line to score Sean Moore who previously reached base on a walk, and Cerny's at-bat resulting in a hit-by-pitch to knot the contest up at 3-3.
It was a 1-0 ballgame through the bottom of the seventh, as the Red Raiders cushioned its lead to 3-0 teed up by a sequence of a single and a double to bring home a pair of runs.
The Red Raiders clipped the 'Jacks with two clutch hits which created the game-winning RBI from Cal Conley.
Texas Tech converted on eight hits to SFA's three in tonight's matchup.
The Lumberjacks will have another chance at a victory today at 1:00 p.m. CT on BIG 12 NOW on ESPN+.
