How It Happened
- Neither team caught fire until the third inning until the Cardinals broke the scoreless streak, thanks to doubles from Cole Girouard and Avery George, as George's resulted in an RBI to drive in Girouard (Lamar, 1-0).- The Cardinals added another to the board in the fourth scored by Anthony Quirion (BB), who came home on a wild pitch to give his team a 2-0 cushion.
- It wasn't until the fifth inning where the Lumberjacks strung together an offensive sequence led off by Drew Durst singling to left field and utilizing his wheels to steal second, and Burgos's single through the right side to bring Cal Martin to second (BB), which put Durst in a position to score a run for SFA (Lamar, 2-1).
- Lamar took control in B5 and scored three runs, with RBI's coming from Weyler, Quirion and Kemp to carry a 5-1 lead to wrap up the fifth inning.
