
Lumberjack Soccer Blasts Colonels in Thibodaux, 5-0

NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- The Lumberjack soccer team continued its torrid play on Friday, pounding Nicholls by a 5-0 score on their home turf in Thibodaux. With the victory, SFA improves to 6-2-2 on the season, while Nicholls continues its winless slide at 0-6 on the season. SFA tallied a goal just seven minutes into the contest and ended the rout with a season-high five goals scored.
HOW IT HAPPENED
It didn't take long for the Lumberjacks to find their game-winner, as Carli Arthurs put SFA on the board in the match's seventh minute off an assist by Caylon McMillan. Roughly twenty minutes later, SFA double its lead off the foot of reserve forward Teia Haynes, who slotted home her first goal of the season off an assist by Elise Davis to double the lead. Haynes would strike again in the 35th minute of play, taking a feed from Aaliyah Perez and notching her first career multi-goal game.
Coming out of the half firing, the 'Jacks registered a shot on goal by Morgan Wessling in the 47th minute of play that was saved by Reagan Carter of Nicholls. A few minutes later, SFA's attack found paydirt once more, as Wessling beat Carter for her first goal of the campaign off a feed from Katelyn Termini. Wessling tacked on an insurance goal in the 68th minute off of a low shot to the left to notch her first career multi-goal game as well, with the assist by Jamie Jezierski.
