NATCHITOCHES, La. -- A matchup between two of the Southland's top teams fit the bill in every way on Friday, as the SFA Lumberjack soccer team took and early lead but couldnt hold on in a 3-1 loss to Northwestern State on Friday. The result in Natchitoches to the league-leading Demons moves SFA to 6-4-2 on the season and 4-2 in league play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SFA opened the game in style, as Morgan Wessling found the back of the net in the game' second minute to put SFA on top, thanks to an assist by Katelyn Termini. The goal was the first surrendered by the Lady Demons in the past six games and snapped a shutout streak spanning that same length. NSU would answer back in the fifth minute, however, as the hosts responded in quick fashion. A second goal in the 32nd minute would give the Lady Demons a 2-1 halftime lead, and an insurance goal in the 55th minute sealed the result for NSU.

SFA would outshoot the Lady Demons 10-8 in the contest, placing four of those shots on frame compared to five for NSU. Termini led the way with three shots for the 'Jacks, who played without top goal scorer Carli Arthurs.
