Auhmad Robinson Earns Second Southland Conference Athlete of the Week Accolade

FRISCO, Texas -- Stephen F. Austin freshman sprinter Auhmad Robinson has been named the Southland Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week, according to a release from the league office on Wednesday afternoon. Robinson, a native of Spring, Texas, earns the second weekly accolade of his career as a result of his performance at the H-Town Speedcity Series over the weekend.
Robinson claims his second Track Athlete of the Week honor this season after a standout performance for the Lumberjacks at the H-Town Speedcity Series in Houston, Texas, last weekend. The freshman claimed a first-place finish in the 400-meter event with a time of 47.65, a mark that ranks second in the Southland this season. Robinson also secured a second-place performance in the 200m race after crossing the finish line with a personal-best time of 21.12, ranking 33rd nationally this season. He also ran the second leg of the 4x400m relay for the 'Jacks, pushing the team to a second-place finish with a 3:16.76.
SFA's Nissi Kabongo, Riley Floerke and Kevin Steward each earned Southland Conference Honorable Mention honors for their performances over the weekend. To earn honorable mention, a student-athlete must appear on at least 25 percent of ballots.
