NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Midfielder Destiny Davis' first career goal broke a scoreless tie and a brace of goals by Carli Arthurs put the nail in the coffin for the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack soccer team on Friday, as they defeated the Bears of Central Arkansas by a 3-0 score at SFA Soccer Field. The victory moves SFA to 3-2-2 on the year and 1-1 during the spring season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After the guests opened the game with three quick shots in the game's first 18 minutes, Carli Arthurs registered the first shot on frame, a low shot saved by UCA keeper Reagan McCombs. The 'Jacks would get shots from Colleen Feagins, Arthurs and Katelyn Termini before opening the scoring in the 34th minute, as Termini found Davis to set up the latter's first career goal.

Wasting little time after the halftime intermission, the Lumberjacks doubled their lead in the 49th minute, as Arthurs found the back of the net off a feed by Caylon McMillan. Arthurs would score again in the 87th minute, notching the first multi-goal game of her career. While the 'Jacks were narrowly outshot by the visitors, 16-15, they held a healthy edge in shots on goal (7-3).

Arthurs led the Lumberjacks in shots on the day with six total shots (four on goal) on the day, while Termini and Davis notched two shots apiece in the match. Madeline Talbot recorded the shutout effort in goal, playing 90 minutes of scoreless soccer and making three saves.
