
Ladyjacks Sweep ACU

ABILENE, Texas --
The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks completed their final regular season road stretch with a sweep over the Abilene Christian Wildcats on Saturday afternoon to notch their eighth win in Western Athletic Conference action this year. The 'Jacks move 17-7 overall with one more match to be played on Saturday, November 13th against Sam Houston on Senior Day in Shelton.
The Ladyjacks claimed a .348 team hitting percentage on the day with only seven attack errors, forcing 22 on the Wildcats. The 'Jacks won the day in the blocks department as well, tallying nine as a squad to ACU's team total of two.
Valeria Rosado and Leah Powell continued their consistent offensive trends, as the two were responsible for 24 of SFA's 47 kills, complemented by nine from Payton Cerny. Powell's efficiency was critical in this outing, as she went 10-for-18 on .556 including nine digs. Taya Mitichell contributed five kills, in addition to Kelsey Harrington and Ashley Procious chipping in four each.
Maddy Bourque and Kodi Garcia did their job facilitating 36 of 47 kills, both notching service aces as well.
The 'Jacks were able to complete the sweep, but today's bout consisted of 17 total lead changes across three sets, where SFA was able to execute late in each set as they were the first team to 20 points twice in this match.
SFA sits at No. 2 in the Southwest Division in the Western Athletic Conference standings behind No. 1 Sam Houston as postseason implications will be finalized next week.
