Lumberjacks Comfortably Take Care of ACU at Home
10/9/2021 9:18:00 AM | Women's Soccer
The SFA Soccer team remained perfect in conference play following a 3-0 win at home against Abilene Christian. This victory puts the team five points clear atop the divisional table with six games to go.
Colleen Feagins put the 'Jacks ahead in the fifth minute as she got on the end of a Jayme Bailey cross, and the team didn't look back from there. Briana Beaty doubled the lead off of an assist from Carly Wyatt before Lilly Hargrove put back a rebound off of the keeper to put SFA three goals to the good.
SFA not only dominated the scoreboard but also on the stat sheet. The home team out-shot ACU 16-10 and 6-2 on target. SFA also earned seven corners.
Madeline Talbot earned her third clean sheet of the season as well as her fourth win in a row to move to 6-5-1 on the year. She was only tested twice but took care of business when called upon as she racked up a couple of saves.
The 'Jacks will look to extend their division lead on Sunday as they take on Chicago State at home at 1:00 p.m. We will be honoring our seniors before the game so be sure to come out and cheer them on.
