
Ladyjacks Rack Up 12 blocks in 3-0 Victory over UL Monroe

NACOGDOCHES, Texas --The SFA volleyball team totaled 12 blocks en route to a 3-0 sweep (25-8, 25-19, 25-11) of the University of Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks on Friday at home at Shelton Gym. The non-conference win improved SFA's overall record to 3-1 on the season.
Leah Powell finished with eight kills on the night to lead the Ladyjack's attack. Defensively, SFA had three players reach double figures in digs, including Madelynn Miller's 16, another 13 from Ariana Pagan, and 12 more from Allie Hamsher. From the front row, Ashley Procious contributed nine blocks (two solo, seven assisted).

SET 1 | The Ladyjacks grabbed control on the first point and never trailed to win the first set 25-8. SFA opened up its biggest lead, 17 points, to finish off the set. SFA also supplemented their offense with three aces in the opening set. SFA got a solid defensive performance from a front row that blocked four UL Monroe attacks in the stanza.
SET 2 | SFA continued to roll after a set-one win by securing a 25-19 victory in the second set. The Ladyjacks took a 1-0 lead and never looked back in the set to earn the victory. SFA opened up as much as an eight point lead at 14-6 before finishing off the set. SFA's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four UL Monroe attacks in the stanza.
SET 3 | SFA then capped the three-set sweep with a victory in set number three. The Ladyjacks led from the opening point on in the set to earn a 25-11 victory. SFA opened up as much as a 15 point lead at 16-1 before finishing off the set. The SFA offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza. SFA's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four UL Monroe attacks in the stanza.
