NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- The SFA men's and women's cross country team battled through one of its hottest openers yet on Tuesday night at Pecan Park, running alongside Jacksonville College at the Lumberjack Opener. The 'Jacks easily outran Jacksonville College, winning the men's race 16-47 and the women's race by a 15-50 score.
"Proud of our group tonight", said SFA Cross Country Head Coach Cody Clark. "We had a light workout this morning and came back and raced to get our volume in for the day. It's great to get back to racing and get the competitive juices flowing again. It was all about pacing tonight due to the 105 heat index. Parker (Jones) and Megan (Eichler) led the group and they are seeing the benefits of their mileage paying off. Their aerobic strength carried them throughout the race tonight for the individual win."
