SFA Basketball Welcomes Alumni Back to William R. Johnson Coliseum for Basketball Reunion

NACOGDOCHES, Texas---The SFA men's and women's basketball teams continue working toward the future while considering the stellar history fo both programs this week. Next Saturday's double-header matchup with Lamar is reunion weekend with this year's model welcoming back the legends who built SFA basketball into Southland Conference powerhouses, with dominance that has spanned through multiple decades.
All members of the SFA basketball family are invited back to campus, from those who cut their teeth at old Shelton Gymnasium to the modern squads who made the William R. Johnson Coliseum roar. There are several events planned starting with the SFA Alumni Association's Sportsman Social on Friday night at Meadow Ridge Archery & Gun. Full list of events planned and times below.

The Ladyjack program boasts an impressive resume…
· 18 NCAA Division I Tournament Appearances
· 32 Southland Conference Championships: 17 regular-season, 15 tournament)
· Seven consecutive conference championships from 1988-1994.
· One of just a dozen NCAA Division I WBB programs with more than 1000 program wins
The Lumberjacks have also built a Southland Conference powerhouse over the years…
· SFA has 11 conference championships since 2008 (six regular-season, five tournament)
· The 'Jacks have made five NCAA Tournament Appearances and earned two tournament wins.
· Basketball history was made during the 2019-20 season, as SFA upset #1 Duke in Cameron Indoor Stadium in the biggest upset in college basketball history. The Blue Devils hadn't lost in their
previous 150 non-conference home games.
· In addition to their March Madness success, the 'Jacks have made four other postseason tournament appearance since 1987.
· SFA has over 1500 wins as a program over the course of its existence.
The Lumberjacks are at home against rival Northwestern State on Wednesday February, 26 leading up to the reunion, while the Ladyjacks are on the road in Natchitoches that same night. Tipoff on February 29 is at 2 p.m. for the Ladyjacks followed by a 4:30pm tip for the Lumberjacks, against the Cardinals. Tickets are available at the link above on sfatickets.com.
