Ramirez's School Record Run Leads 'Jacks in Saturday's Competition

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The SFA Track and Field team put forth a slew of great performances on Saturday at the Tyson Invitational and saw another pole vaulter reach new heights at the Toyota USATF Indoor Championships as well. Kelsey Ramirez was the top performer for SFA at the Tyson Invitational in Arkansas, obliterating the school record in the 3000M and besting the Southland's best mark this season by over 15 seconds. The junior ran the race in a new personal best time of 9:32.05, shaving 17 seconds off her previous personal best.
In Albuquerque, senior Kaylee Bizzell cleared the bar at 4.50m (14-9) in the women's pole vault, eclipsing her previous personal best and moving up to fourth in the NCAA this season in the event. Joining Ramirez as an event winner at the Tyson Invite was sophomore Jeremiah Curry, who won the men's 200M dash with a blistering time of 21.03, the second fastest mark in the conference this season and a new personal best.
