Gavin Kensmil Named Southland Conference Player of the Week

FRISCO, Texas -- Senior forward Gavin Kensmil has been named the Southland Conference Player of the Week for his performances this week, per a release from the conference office on Monday. The Paramaribo, Suriname native earns his first weekly accolade of the 2020-21 season.
Kensmil averaged 17.3 points and five rebounds on 76 percent shooting in three victories over LeTourneau, McNeese and LSU-Alexandria. He went 18-24 from the field scoring 46 points, and compiled 30 rebounds combined in the two wins over LeTourneau and McNeese, chipping in six points against LSU-Alexandria. His field goal percentage ranks first in the conference, and ranks sixth in scoring, respectively.
Kensmil, a Preseason Southland All-Conference First Team selection, has led the Lumberjacks to a 3-0 record to start the 2020-21 campaign.
