NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Former SFA men's basketball great Kevon Harris has taken the next step in his professional career with the announcement that he has signed an NBA contract with the reigning champions Los Angeles Lakers. Harris, a native of Ellenwood, Georgia, finished his four-year career at SFA last spring, and had been working to begin his professional career since then.
Harris ended his SFA career as the program's Division I leader in points scored during his career, notching a grand total of 1,833 points during his time in a Lumberjack uniform. He appeared in 127 games for the Lumberjacks, including all 31 for the 'Jacks during their stellar 28-3 season in 2019-20, which included a 26-point game against top-ranked Duke in a Lumberjack victory. The 6'6 wing was labeled an "athletic, energetic swingman that excels at attacking the basket to garner scores" in a draft profile on nbascoutinglive.com.
