SACRAMENTO, CA – SFA Track and Field added to its qualifying roster for the NCAA Championships with a pair of a pole vault performances on Friday at the NCAA Preliminary Round in Sacramento, California. Nastassja Campbell and Madison Pecot each qualified for the showdown, which takes place in the Lone Star State's capital on June 5-8. Both Ladyjacks placed within the event's top five to mark SFA's second and third qualifier, respectively.
Madison Pecot led the field for most of the day, remaining tied for first through all bars except the final bar, during which she fell to fifth despite a clearance of 14-2. Teammate Nastassja Campbell was able to leapfrog her teammate in the final bar, converting on her first attempt and finishing third overall, also at 14-2. The pair join freshman pole vaulter Branson Ellis of the Lumberjacks as SFA's current qualifiers for the national meet.
Competition concludes on Saturday afternoon with the field events beginning at 2:45 p.m (Pacific) and the running events beginning at 6:00 p.m.
