MONROE, La. -- The SFA soccer team rolled over host Louisiana-Monroe 5-0 in a spring match on Friday evening in Monroe to remain unbeaten in the spring season. Katelyn Termini's hat trick effort of three goals and an assist helped pace a Ladyjack offense that diced apart the Warhawks to the tune of a 28-2 shot advantage.
"A lot of good soccer today and you can really get a sense of the maturity in possession this team is developing", said SFA head coach Wally Crittenden. "There were several moments that with better execution we would have converted and that is what we will take away. You have to appreciate every chance you have to score as you never know what moment will define the outcome. I am excited for them to get some rest and get back after it on Tuesday."
Termini opened up the game's scoring with what would be the golden goal off an assist from Sabrina Segovia. Kenady Carlile then doubled the SFA lead with a helping foot from Termini, before Termini notched her second off an assist from Sophia Fondren. Termini's third goal to complete the hat trick came via an assist from Destiny Davis, and Fondren's strike off a free kick rounded out the day's scoring with SFA's fifth goal.
Madeline Talbot got the start between the sticks and played 67 minutes of the shutout effort, eventually giving way for Allyson Halliday to make her return from injury and play the remainder of the contest.
SFA soccer returns to action next Sunday, April 14, when it hosts Louisiana Tech on the SFA Soccer Field at 1:00 p.m. Following that, the Ladyjacks close out the spring slate with the annual alumni game on April 27.
