Southland Conference Athlete of the Week Release
FRISCO, Texas – Senior sprinter Imani Nave has been named the Southland Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week honoree, per a release from the conference office on Wednesday. The Tomball, Texas native earns her first AOW accolade of the outdoor season and third overall for SFA in the first three weeks of the spring season.
Nave earned the weekly honor thanks to an impressive opening in the 400m dash at the Roadrunner Invitational on Saturday, finishing in 54.40 to finish third overall and coming up just three tenths shy of her personal best in the event, set in last spring's conference meet. Nave also ran a leg of both the 4x400 and 4x100 relays, which rank first and fourth, respectively, in the Southland Conference thus far thanks to their weekend marks.
Nave and a contingent of SFA athletes are set to compete later this week at the 92ndannual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas. Following that, the 'Jacks will have a chance to showcase their skills at home with the upcoming Carl Kight Invitational next week in Nacogdoches.
