Women’s Golf Wraps up Play in Arizona with Lowest Three-Round Score Since 2017

Ladyjacks improve score by one stroke in final round, card season-low three-round total of 54-over 906 for third-lowest 54-hole total in program history
CORNVILLE, Ariz. – Carding the lowest three-round score since 2017, the SFA women's golf team turned in the third-lowest 54-hole total in program history Sunday afternoon by finishing Northern Arizona's Red Rocks Invitational with a 54-over 906. The Ladyjacks improved their score by one stroke between the second and third rounds, shooting a 22-over 306 on the final 18 holes of play at the Agave Highlands Golf Course in Cornville, Arizona.
Junior Alexandra Batista posted her third-straight top-20 finish and set the program record for the lowest 54-hole score, carding her second-lowest single round score of the season with a 2-under 69 in the third round. She tied for 17th among 104 total golfers with a career-low three-round tally of 3-over 216 on the par-71, 5,919-yard course, which is the lowest 54-hole total by any SFA women's golfer in program history.
Senior Erica Lautensack closed out the two-day, 54-hole tournament with her second-lowest three-round score of 2018-19, tying her third-lowest 54-hole mark of her career with a 7-over 220 and tying for 35th overall. Fellow senior Jamee Jorgensen tied for 80th with a 20-over 233, while junior Paola Cortes (24-over 237) placed 93rd and sophomore Kelly Yang (26-over 239) finished 95th.
Competing among a challenging 18-team tournament field, SFA finished ahead Weber State, Illinois State, Montana State and Idaho State, while coming within five strokes of Creighton (49-over 901) and six strokes behind Montana (48-over 900).
New Mexico State captured the team title with a three-round total of 1-over 853, while Cal State Fullerton claimed runner-up honors five strokes off the lead with a cumulative score of 6-over 858. Both Gonzaga and Red Rocks Invitational host Northern Arizona tied for third with tallies of 11-over 863.
Southern Utah's Chanikan (Pluem) Yongyuan claimed the individual crown after posting a 6-under 2017 across the three rounds. Three different players tied for second place with California Baptist's Jocelyn Chee Yi, Montana State individual competitor Delaney Elliott and Gonzaga's Quynn Duong all finishing two strokes off the lead at 4-under 209.
