SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- A small contingent of SFA Track and Field athletes competed at the UTSA Invitational on Friday inside Park West Athletic Complex, with the unit showing out well among the field of athletes. Eight athletes notched Top-8 finishes in their respective events to pace SFA in the first of two separate meets that UTSA. The second meet, the 2019 Roadrunner Invitational, will take place on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m.
TOP EIGHT FINISHES
• Maggie Okul took second in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 53.82m (176-07).
• Trenton Bridges finished sixth in the men's hammer throw with a distance of 55.58m (182-04) while competing unattached.
• In the men's shot put, Kevin Steward finished fourth with 17.06m (55-11.75)
• Cord Neal took fourth in the men's javelin, reaching a distance of 56.23m (184-06).
The Roadrunner Invitational will begin tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. with the men's pole vault competition. The meet will feature host UTSA, along with Akron, James Madison, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas State and UTRGV.
