Sophomore turns in SFA's second triple of 2019
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - After posting a comeback victory over Portland in game one of Saturday's doubleheader, the SFA baseball team mustered just four hits against Pilots' starter Chris Clements and dropped a 7-1 decision to the WCC team in the series finale.
SCORING SUMMARY

Chad Stevens started the game with a double down the right field line before a walk issued by SFA starter Joseph Sgamballuri put two runners on. After a wild pitch moved the two runners into scoring position, a failed pickoff attempt got by Monacy at first and put Portland up 1-0. A bases-loaded walk and an RBI groundout capped the Pilots' three-run frame
T2 | Portland struck for a single and a double before Stevens drove in his first run of the game with a sacrifice fly that pushed the Pilots' lead to 4-0.
T3 | Hunter Montgomery socked a one-out solo home run on a 2-2 pitch from SFA relief arm Austin Roth that pushed the Pilots' edge to 5-0.
B4 | Jared Martin broke up Portland's shutout bid by ripping a one-out RBI triple down the right field line.
T7 | Portland regained its five-run lead in the seventh when SFA reliever Tyler Starks hit Travis Turney with the bases loaded.
T9 | Daniel Lopez socked a one-out, solo home run to end the scoring.
