Bizzell Captures Southland Conference Field Athlete of the Week Honors

FRISCO, Texas – Junior pole-vaulter Kaylee Bizzell was named the Southland Conference Field Athlete of the Week for the final week of the indoor season, per a release from the conference office on Wednesday. Bizzell becomes the eighth member of SFA's team this season to bring home one of the four weekly awards given out by the conference weekly.

Bizzell established a new personal best with a mark of 4.18m (13-8.5) at the Aggie Twilight meet last weekend. Bizzell bested her previous high of 4.15m with the effort, which also gave her a first-place finish in the competition.

Bizzell is the reigning Southland Conference champion in both the indoor and outdoor pole vault, having swept the event in both conference meets last season. Bizzell's mark on Saturday gives her the second-best mark among Southland Conference vaulters this season, trialing only her teammate Nastassja Campbell (4.39m).
